For middle and high school students, our regional centers offer a variety of programs that expose the students to healthcare careers. We inform students about the different types of careers and help them along the path to get to that profession. There are shadowing opportunities, summer camps focusing on numerous healthcare careers, special events and simulation days, just to name a few. Our centers also give interactive presentations at local schools to educate students on healthcare professions.

Indiana AHEC supports high school students as they develop the skills they need to pursue careers in healthcare. Once a student enters a college or university, Indiana AHEC continues to work with these students to be a resource and help them on their path to their health professions program.

The Indiana AHEC Network supports college students throughout their journey to their health professions program in many ways! Centers participate in panels about health professions, help students to be able to attend recruiting events for programs, provide instructors with free online resources for students, participate and plan special events for students interested in medicine, and speak to medicine related student interest groups (such as pre-physician assistant or pre-medicine). Indiana AHEC helps to cultivate student interests in health professions programs by giving as many resources as possible to support students on their way to their chosen programs.
